Macro celebrates its first 10 years

  • Peter Brumby, Managing Director of Macro, with Greg Rutherford - Olympic Long Jump Gold Medallist.

2012 has been a year of success and celebration for Mace, but for Macro the year marks a major milestone in the company’s history as it celebrates 10 years of operation. To mark the occasion Macro hosted an anniversary reception with long standing clients and guests at Paramount Bar, London with fantastic views across the city.

In his speech, managing director, Peter Brumby said: “It is personally satisfying to look around the room this evening and see representatives from organisations that were our first clients over 10 years ago, and are still clients today. These are the people who have propelled us forward. They have our thanks and should also be proud of what they have helped to build.”

Guests were treated to a key note speech from special guest Olympic gold medallist Greg Rutherford who told the dramatic story of how his career went through a series of highs and lows before and during the London 2012 Olympic Games.

After describing the atmosphere in the stadium, Greg talked the guests through the final round of the long jump: “…the order was reversed, so I was now going last. I was pacing up and down the warm up area as I couldn’t keep still, wasting valuable energy, and I was ticking off how many of my competitors were left to compete. Two, three, four guys made their jump and they hadn’t bettered mine. Then, when I realised there was only two guys left who could beat me the realisation began to sink in. When the final guy ran straight through the pit, I just couldn’t believe it. Still to this day I can’t find words to describe that moment.”

After his speech, Greg posed for pictures with his gold medal, and let guests pose for their own pictures wearing gold.
