Turning negative into positive

Having a bad day? Quite often it will go from bad to worse unless you stop and reassess the situation. Is it really that bad?

Checking the facts of your day perhaps there are a few silver linings: the cancelled meeting provided more time to prepare for a presentation, the employee who decided to quit left room to hire somebody more qualified, the non-attentive boss provided you with the creativity to start your own initiatives. If you’ve made a mistake, think of it as a learning experience. If you’re still struggling to think of positives, remember that having a bad day will make you appreciate the good ones even more. Now that’s positive!

“Without more positivity, we can’t pull off the recipe for flourishing life success.” Barbara L Fredrickson, Ph.D.

Learning to turn negative events into positive ones is like training for a marathon – the more you do it, the better you become at it. At the end of the day, wouldn’t you rather work with individuals who view the glass as half full rather than half empty, who think of solutions as opposed to problems?

As a company, your motto should be ‘how can we do it?’ Think outside the box, explore and work as a team. At Macro, we pride ourselves on being creative with a can-do attitude and this is reflected in our approach to everything we do: to be passionate and enthusiastic, flexible, supportive, have integrity and a can-do attitude, and to take ownership.

You’re more likely to have an impact on your clients, customers, colleagues and company if your attitude is a positive one.

Have a great day!
