Abu Dhabi General Services, “Musanada”, was established by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan in December 2007 as a shared service company serving the Government of Abu Dhabi.

Following a review of Musanada’s five-year strategy and proposed internal re-organisation, Musanada decided to mobilise an outsourced Managing Agent Team that would assume responsibility for the management of day-to-day operational services delivery to its clients, all of which are Abu Dhabi Government Entities (ADGEs). As well as targeting improvements in service performance for individual ADGEs, the fundamental driver behind the change would be driving and realizing value contribution to and across entities operating under the Government of Abu Dhabi.

Macro was successful in a competitive tender for the FM Managing Agent role for a period of three years with an option for a further two years based on defined performance criteria. Following an initial period of due diligence lasting three months, the FM Managing Agent Team of approximately 100 personnel, senior management and staff was mobilized in the fourth quarter of 2011. In the first quarter of 2012 the FM Managing Agent Team assumed full operational responsibility for the management of a diverse property portfolio of approximately 3,500 buildings and facilities across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Key personnel within Musanada have been seconded into the Macro team and the first six months saw a 30% reduction in directly engaged FM resources. An additional achievement has been the delivery of an FM Transformation Initiative, enabling effective FM stakeholder engagement, technology-based business processes and reporting capabilities, resulting in 80% of direct and indirect paper consumption in legacy business processes being eliminated.
