East London NHS Estates Strategy

With budgets always under pressure, estates professionals working for the National Health Service are constantly  examining their property portfolios for opportunities to make them work both harder and smarter. Macro was engaged by the East London NHS Foundation Trust to review their estates strategy and capital programme for 2007-2012, assess their performance against the 2010/11 programme, and develop the plan for 2011/12.

Macro’s review was comprehensive and looked at opportunities for rationalisation, performance of existing estates and facilities, how the Trust managed its property assets and benchmarked the organisation against its peers. We also provided forensic analysis of the patient environment, a review of occupany costs, overall estate valuation and data on future capital spending - helping the Trust to make better long-term financial decisions.

With annual budgets constantly under threat of revision or curtailment this estates strategy work has proved invaluable for East London NHS as it maintains its commitment to get best value for all service users.
